- Crickett and Andy DeWall announce the birth of their daughter, Harlee LaBree DeWall, on Dec. 14, 2009. The baby weighed 5 pounds, once ounce, and was 17 inches long.
- Natosha and Adam Smith, of Craig, announce the birth of their son, Kolby James Smith, at 2:10 p.m. Dec. 11, 2009, at the Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs. The baby weighed 7.6 pounds and was 19 1/2 inches long. Grandparents include Marty Smith, of Denver; Debbie Brown, of Haxtun; and Shane and Robin Moore, of Craig.
- Juli and Anthony Scapardine, of Craig, announce the birth of their daughter, Karalynn Elisabeth Scapardine, at 5:50 p.m. Dec. 7, 2009, at The Memorial Hospital. The baby weighed 4 pounds, 11 ounces, and was 16 1/2 inches long. Grandparents include Robin Taylor, of Hayden; Curtis Rank, of Arkansas; the late Elizabeth Stoffle, formerly of Wisconsin; and the late Raymond Scapardine, formerly of Chicago.

- Playing in the last game of 2009, the Moffat County Bulldogs club hockey team was able to knock off the Crested Butte Wolf Pack in a Sunday double-header. Playing at the Moffat County Ice Arena, the Bulldogs won the first game, 2-1, behind goals from Ethan O’Mailia and Jacob Baron.
