VNA advises steps to prevent diseases
This week marks National Handwashing Awareness Week, a campaign aimed to spread the word about the prevention of infectious diseases, according to a new release from the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association.
Preventing diseases can be achieved by practicing a few simple steps, the VNA advised, including:
• Washing your hands when they are dirty and before eating.
• Sneezing and coughing into your arm rather than your hand.
• Not putting your fingers in your nose or mouth.
Cardio assessments available Dec. 18
Free cardiovascular assessments, including full cholesterol panel, glucose levels and body mass indexes, will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association in Craig, 745 Russell St. Call 819-1771 to make an appointment.
H1N1 vaccines available to public
The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association now has H1N1 vaccine and seasonal flu vaccine available for all ages of the general public.

Enroll in the 2010 4-H program now
Enrollments now are being taken for the 2010 Moffat County 4-H program year.
Moffat County 4-H enables youths ages 8 to 18 to participate in hands-on projects, attend camps, make new friends, acquire and/or improve their leadership and public speaking skills, and more.
