Anthony G. Stoffle: Our duty to remember

To the editor:

Craig, America?

On Dec. 7, 1941, then President Roosevelt said “A day that will live in infamy.”

How many citizens remembered this day? I know it is antiquated history to most. But you remember July 4, 1776, and Sept. 11, 2001.

But remember on Dec. 7, 1941, our country was attacked and forced into World War II.

The very least you could do is fly our flag that day. I hope you own one.

It’s our duty as American citizens to remember those who died or were wounded that day.

To most of us who were alive — even us that were just babies — please remember WWII.

Please think about that next year and fly your flag. Thank you for your time. And thank you to the Craig Daily Press for placing this date’s notice on the front page.

The Denver Post had it on page 6A.
