- Lluvia Prieto and Guillermo Aguirre, of Craig, announce the birth of their son, Rodrigo Aguirre, at 10:11 a.m. Nov. 16, 2009, at The Memorial Hospital in Craig. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Gabina Silva and Envique Prieto, of Mexico. Paternal grandparents are Luz Maria Luna and Marcelino Aguirre, of Mexico.
- Jessica Hodom and Jacob Witherell, of Craig and Rangely, announce the birth of their son, Stryker Lee Witherell, at 8:42 p.m. Nov. 19, 2009, at Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs. The baby weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. Grandparents are James and Cynthia Wall, of Craig, and Sue Striegal, of Rangely. The baby was welcomed home by a sibling, Cydny Witherell.
- Stacey and Daniel Severson, of Craig, announce the birth of their daughter, Jaxsyn Hope Severson, at 1:27 p.m. Nov. 15, 2009, at The Memorial Hospital in Craig. The baby weighed 5 pounds, 12 ounces and was 18 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Jerry and Betsy Carter, of Florence. Paternal grandparents are Gail Severson, of Craig, and the late Jim Severson. The baby was welcomed home by a brother, Carter Severson, and a sister, Tate Severson.

- The U.S. Postal Service reminds everyone that holiday mail and packages for U.S. troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan should be sent by Friday for arrival by Christmas. Holiday mail going to other military overseas locations should be sent by Dec. 11. Except for military mail going to Iraq and Afghanistan, Express Mail also can be used to mail packages to other overseas military locations until Dec. 18 for delivery by Christmas.

The event, at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Routt County Fairgrounds’ Exhibit Hall, allows local organizations to auction decorated Christmas trees, wreaths and centerpieces. All proceeds go directly back to the organization.
