Craig briefs: Sign-up for Conservation Stewardship under way

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Services authorized a new program to encourage environmental stewardship on the part of agricultural and forestry producers.
The Conservation Stewardship Program is voluntary and applicants have to be a USDA registered producer.
Participants will be encouraged to adopt new conservation practices and manage existing ones.

Community college cookout Wednesday
Colorado Northwestern Community College is hosting its annual Community Cookout on Wednesday at its Craig Campus.
The event is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m.
There will be hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages. The event is free and open to the public.
Francisco Reina offers free soccer lessons
Local resident and retired soccer coach Francisco Reina offers free soccer lessons to any resident interested in learning.
Sessions are available to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Vet services offered Aug. 31 in Craig
The staff of the Grand Junction Veterans Center will have office hours from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 31 at the Colorado Workforce Center, 480 Barclay, in Craig.
