'Big Blue' football camp opens Monday

Craig — The "Big Blue" football camp is scheduled for Monday through Thursday at Moffat County High School, according to a news release from MCHS coach Kip Hafey.

The camp is for kindergarten through eighth-graders. Registration will take place from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday. The cost is $40 per player.

All campers will receive a camp T-shirt. The camp runs from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Summer basketball camps scheduled

The Moffat County Bulldog summer basketball camp has been scheduled, MCHS boys coach Steve Maneotis announced Wednesday.

June 9 through 11 will be a fundamental camp for kindergarten through 12th-grade boys.

The sessions are divided as follows: 10 a.m. to noon, kindergarten through fourth-graders; 1:30 to 4 p.m., fifth- through eighth-graders; and 4 to 6 p.m., ninth- through 12th-graders.

"This camp will be three days of intense training on the offensive and defensive fundamentals of basketball," Maneotis wrote in a news release. "This three-day camp will place emphasis on individual skill development and team play."

Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt and personal evaluation. Awards will be given on the last night at 6 p.m. Parents are welcome to attend award night.

On June 12, Maneotis is hosting Jay Wolf's Star Shooter Camp, which is open to boys and girls in fifth grade and older.

The camp is broken into half-day sessions. Morning sessions are from 8:30 a.m. to noon and afternoon sessions from 1 to 4:30 p.m.

Participants will receive 3 1/2 hours of "intense training" on shooting fundamentals.

Costs of the camps vary.

For kindergarten through fourth-graders, the three-day camp is $40. For fifth-graders and older, the cost is $60.

The Jay Wolf shooting camp costs $49.
