To the editor:
We recently experienced every parent's nightmare when we were unable to locate our 10-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter after they had been playing in our yard.
After looking for them ourselves for 30 minutes, we saw a sheriff's deputy and reported our situation to him.
He immediately took action and the response from all of our fantastic emergency agencies was beyond our expectations. People from the sheriff's office, Craig Police Department, Craig Fire/Rescue and the ambulance crew were helping us look for them within minutes.
Their competent and calm manner was appreciated and a Godsend. Thank you so much.
We also would like to send our heart-felt thanks to the numerous neighbors who were going door to door and walking the neighborhood to help us.
We relocated to Craig from a large city in hopes of finding a great place to raise our children, and this experience has shown us that is exactly what we have found. In the city we would have had one officer maybe come by and maybe help us look.
Thank you all again, and we are so grateful and happy to call Craig our home. We found them at a friend's backyard.

Question of the week
Should the Craig Chamber of Commerce revise its State of the County attendance policy to allow people to hear speakers without paying for a ticket?
