Armed and dangerous
To the editor:
National leaders who would disarm us, either individually or as a nation, ignore the very obvious fact that there are evil people in the world. Some of those people are heads of state who hate the U.S., and who are very busy developing nuclear weapons.
We must stay armed and alert.
We cannot ignore the fact that throughout recorded human history, beginning at 3600 B.C., only 292 years did not have war somewhere in the world. There were 14,500 wars and 3.6 billion people were killed. (Canadian Army Journal complied by historians from England, Egypt, Germany and India.)
Greed for possessions and power is in the very nature of people, to one degree or another, and the only language the greedy bullies of the world understand is the superior power of intended victims.
The bullies will not be "talked" out of their basic evil intentions - as proved by history.
The facts of history are backed up by scripture: "The heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil" (Ecclesiastes 8:11.).
Reality demands that we stay armed to protect our families and our nation.
It is up to us to let our leaders know they cannot mess with the Second Amendment, and that they better strengthen the Missile Defense System, and they better not reduce our nuclear stockpile, all of which are being touted in Washington, D.C.
Such actions would be absolutely stupid in light of the facts.
Write your president and your congressmen and tell them what you think:

Their not listening anymore Rosemary. The only way they'll pay attention is when Washington hears the roar of Micky Tompson's coming up 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. But by then it will be to late.
