8 a.m. The Craig Downtown Business Association meets at Serendipity Coffee Shop, 576 Yampa Ave. The second Wednesday of each month is a Meet-and-Greet, hosted by a local business.

3:30 to 7 p.m. Ages 55 and older swim is at the American Legion Post 62 pool, 1055 Moffat County Road 7. Call 824-3625.

4 p.m. Poetry Students of Craig will reconvene at the Golden Cavvy for the first meeting of the new school year. Any student is welcome to attend. Call Carol Jacobson at 824-5343.

5 p.m. The Craig Beautification Committee hosts its September meeting at the Craig Chamber of Commerce. The committee is seeking new members. Anyone interested is invited to the meeting to learn the group's plans for 2009.

6 p.m. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary bingo is at the VFW Hall, 419 E. Victory Way. It is open to the public. Contact Mary Walters at 824-2923.

6 p.m. Free adult fall soccer is at Woodbury Park. The only equipment participants need to bring is a water bottle. For information, call Bill Sawer at 824-0116.

8:30 to 10 a.m. Senior swimnastics is at the American Legion Post 62 pool, 1055 Moffat CR 7. Call 824-3625.

10 to 11:30 a.m. Moffat County Library celebrates Good Neighbor Day at story time. Children will learn about what it means to be a good neighbor as Miss Trish reads stories.

Noon to 1 p.m. A Grief Education Class will meet at the Visiting Nurse Association, 745 Russell St., in Craig. This free class is open to mothers who have lost a baby. For more information or to register, call Neil Folks at 326-8726 and leave a message.

3 to 6 p.m. End of season farmers market takes place in downtown Craig at Alice Pleasant Park. It is the last chance to buy local products, including sheep, cheese and baked goods. Call 824-5343.

6 p.m. The Elks Lodge hosts bingo each Friday night. Fifteen games are played with a minimum payout of $1,000 each night. The lodge is at 43 W. Victory Way. Doors open at 5 p.m.

6 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friends of Rosa Almaraz are holding a benefit dinner and dance at the Moffat County Fairgrounds pavilion for this local mother whose husband lives away from his family while he is going through the process to emigrate to the United States. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children.
