- Mary L. and Duane Eugene Krehmeyer of Craig announce the birth of their son, Jordan Eugene Krehmeyer, at 11:34 p.m. Sept. 2. The baby weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and was 18 inches long. His grandparents are Ron Holsinger of Michigan, Jane Holsinger of Wray, the late Francis Krehmeyer and the late Betty Krehmeyer. The baby was welcomed home by siblings Tori, Michael, Danielle, Hannah and Mynasia.
- Shawnna and Leo Muhme of Craig announce the birth of their daughter, Ila Marie Muhme, at 10:56 p.m. Sept. 6. The baby weighed 9 pounds and was 19 inches long. Her grandparents are Don and Betty Smyth of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Robert and Patti Muhme of Hayden.
- Tiffany and Eric Taylor of Craig announce the birth of their daughter, Isley Kai Taylor, at 1:14 p.m. Sept. 6. The baby weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. Her grandparents are Tom and Darla Ripkoski of Craig and Mike and Carol Taylor of Craig. The baby was welcomed home by sibling Gavin Taylor.

Although I commend Gar William’s service to our country and the American Legion, I wish he was better informed on where the candidates stand on veterans’ issues. A candid look at McCain’s voting record shows that he voted against veteran benefit bills more than he voted for them. The bills he did vote for gave significantly less money to veterans than the ones he voted against, even when there was a clear way to pay for these benefits. He also voted against a recent bill to give veterans scholarships, calling the bill “too generous.”
