Halloween isn't only for children.

A number of local bars and restaurants have found various ways to celebrate the holiday with their clientele.

Local establishments will provide activities late into the morning hours for adults.

J W Snacks Bar & Grill will host its first Halloween party from 9:30 p.m. today to 2 a.m. Saturday at the restaurant, 210 E. Victory Way. Cash prizes will be awarded to customers wearing the best costumes.

DNA 318, a classic rock-and-roll band and "local favorite," will provide live music, said Danny Griffith, restaurant owner and band member, adding that the band also will perform at the restaurant Saturday.

"It's our first Halloween bash," he said, "and we know there's a lot of ghouls that are ready to come on and party it up at J.W.'s."

Customers must be at least 21 years old and have a valid ID to attend.

Mathers' Lounge & Cafe and its adjoining restaurant, The Boardroom, also will host a Halloween celebration tonight. DJ music begins at 9 p.m. and the party will continue until closing time at 2 a.m. Saturday. Prizes will be awarded to the best-costumed attendees.

"This is the happening place to be on Halloween," said Pat Roberts, kitchen manager at The Boardroom.

Halloween celebrations continue on Craig's west end with Cassidy's Lounge hosting a Halloween party from 9 p.m. today to 2 a.m. Saturday. The Kenny Bradberry Band, a country music group, will provide live music. Cash prizes will be given to customers with the best costumes.

Part of the $5 cover charge for the event will benefit Advocates-Crisis Support Services, a Craig organization serving victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.

"It's a good, fun time with a great band and great drinks for a good cause," Cassidy's Bartender Amanda Ott said.

Cugino's Pizzeria & Italian Food, located at 572 Breeze St., also will offer a costume contest from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today. The customer found wearing the best costume will receive a $50 gift certificate. Second- and third-place winners will receive gift certificates worth $25 and $10, respectively.

Cugino's also will offer happy hour specials, including $2 drafts, and will serve a dinner special in honor of Halloween.

"We want (customers) to come in and have some outstanding Italian food : and some outstanding service, too." Manager Jeff Patterson said.

In addition to hosting a costume contest, Popular Bar will host an auction from 7 p.m. to about 11 p.m. tonight at the bar, 24 W. Victory Way.

Auction items include a Denver Broncos coat, several Broncos hats and a one-man pup tent. Proceeds from the auction will benefit St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Drink specials will be available at the event.
