Career, technical center top priority for CNCC

Ensuring that a new career and technical building goes up at Colorado Northwestern Community College's new Craig campus is a top priority for the college's fundraising campaign.

"Our campaign focus must be the funding of a career and technical center," John Boyd, CNCC president, said in a news release.

During a feasibility study conducted in Craig other CNCC service areas last year, community leaders indicated that constructing a career and technical building in Craig should be the college's top priority. On Oct. 1, John Boyd, CNCC president announced that its fundraising campaign for capital construction and renovation now is open to the private sector. The college hopes to generate $3 million for the Craig campus build-out phase, which is scheduled to extend into 2011 and includes construction of a career and technical center. Ultimately, CNCC will need to raise about $40 million to complete projects in Craig, Rangely and outlying areas, according to data provided by CNCC.
