Freeze on housing voucher program
Craig The Colorado Division of Housing has frozen the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher HCV program starting Nov. 1.
After Nov. 1, new vouchers will not be issued and no new families will be admitted, even if there are vacant vouchers. It is even more important that families who have HCV now hold on to them.
As of Oct. 21, all of Independent Life Center's vouchers were filled, so no one new can lease up.
When the freeze is lifted, sometime in 2009, the families already on the ILC waiting list will be served first.
