Craig To the editor:
After living in Craig nearly 11 years, I have moved to Las Vegas. After an injury last year, I realized I should/could not shovel snow. Two daughters here were anxious to have me live near them.
When I first moved to Craig, I subscribed to the Daily Press and, through it, became familiar with activities and people of Craig. I feel the paper does a wonderful job. I have lived many places and found Craig easy to integrate into with nonprofit and civic organizations.
For the generous of heart, there are many worthwhile places to donate goods, such as the Budget Center, Love INC., the Food Bank and to participate in any fund raiser the American Legion Post has for their building fund. The Legion Post building is enjoyed by many, and they do struggle to keep the building.
My only negative experiences in Craig came from police officers disregarding their duty to obey the law. When I filed a barking dog complaint a few years ago against an officer, I was visited by two policemen who tried to "convince" me I could not hear or see their fellow officer's dog. Currently, I am aware of a local officer who has at least nine dogs in his yard, three above the legal limit. In my opinion, police officers should make efforts to strictly obey the law.
So, to the many friends I met, thank you for making my years in Craig pleasant.
