Gloria Moore: Bulldogs a bad image

To the editor:

The Bulldogs are in the doghouse.

My children and I went to the homecoming parade this year. My children were so excited to go.

As the varsity Bulldogs football team came close to us, my son, age 2, yelled, "Go Bulldogs!" One of the players on the float decided to be ignorant, and instead of throwing candy to my child, he threw a Trojan condom to my son, who picked it up thinking it was candy.

It's pretty bad when a team member shows his team spirit by throwing condoms instead of candy. This has given the whole team a bad image. He should be ashamed of himself and say "sorry."

And a sincere apology it is, but the paper failed to put it on the front page so you have to go to the opinion page to read it. Finally a young man, although it was a stupid mistake, is man enough to admit it and formally apologize. Thank you Braeden

I think it's great that he apologized. It was a poor decision on his part but he is trying to make it right by admitting his mistake. Too bad more kids at the high school don't have the same attitudes. I can't believe how some kids acted at the HOmecoming parade and at the game - cussing at the kids on floats in the parade and making out at the game in plain sight of everyone. It was disgusting and I won't be taking my young kids to the football games anymore. Where are these kids' parents?
