And other stores throughout Craig will have deals today, as well, for the traditional first day of the holiday shopping season.

One holiday down, two to go - and lots of shopping in between.

If the turkey dinner doesn't have you sleeping in too late, there are one-time deals to be had all over Craig, from clothes to electronics, housewares to toys, and in stores big and small.

For the earliest of risers, the Wal-Mart SuperCenter, 2000 W. Victory Way, plans to open its doors at 5 a.m., with special sales from then to 11 a.m.

There will be flatscreen TVs, movies, video games, mp3 players, computers, cameras, luggage, grills, jewelry and more all at reduced prices. If none of that is on your list, check out the 12-foot backyard trampoline for $140.

After 11 a.m., other sales at Wal-Mart last through Saturday, including lots of toys for boys and girls, laptops, video games, more TV deals and a one-time $198 offer for a Samsung Blu-ray DVD player.

Wal-Mart Store Manager Lou Groff said she expects a high turnout for her store's annual Black Friday sale, but she is a little worried the economy may keep people at home.

"I think that's on everybody's mind," she said. "We'd be silly not to worry about the economy. I think the gas prices being down help though, and make it easier for families."

Across U.S. Highway 40 and a little ways west, Murdoch's Ranch & Home Supply also plans to get in on the sale season.

The store plans an all-day Friday sale, with everything in the store 20 percent off. It will follow up with a 15 percent-off sale Saturday and then a 10 percent-off sale Sunday.

Andy Keith, general store manager, said business at Murdoch's has been great so far this fall, and he doesn't see why that would stop, even with the economy remaining down.

"Honestly, this year, it might slow down a little bit, but I think we'll beat last year's numbers," he said. "That's just the way the whole month is trending. We're up compared to last year."

Kmart also plans to get in on the action, with special sales from its 6 a.m. opening until 11 a.m., and other deals the rest of today and Saturday.

As part of its early morning special, Kmart will offer power tools, jewelry, video games and toys at reduced prices, among other things. For instance, check out the $29.99 Cobra-brand radar detector for any lead-footed members of your family.

Later today and Saturday, check out the game table sale - including a $249.99, seven-foot pool table with red felt top - as well as widespread sales on most other things in the store.

Kmart also plans a Saturday morning sale from 7 a.m. to noon, with selected jewelry, children's clothes and electronics marked down.

There also will be big markdowns on electronics today at Jackson's Office Supply & Radio Shack starting at 6 a.m. Expect to find TVs, computers, printers, cell phones, mp3 players and more on sale.

For the music-lover you know, take a look at the Sirius XM satellite radio car kit for $19.99.

Maurices in Centennial Mall also plans storewide sales, with a buy-one-get-one-half-off deal on most casual wear and jewelry. Fleece jackets also will be on sale at $29.90 each, down from $39 to $49.

Laurel Causer, Maurices assistant manager, said she is looking forward to the shopping season.

"It's going to fun," she said. "It always is."
