Gingerbread House Contest deadline Dec. 5
The deadline to enter the Gingerbread House Contest is Dec. 5. All entries must be dropped off at the Museum of Northwest Colorado by 4 p.m. that day.
The contest is an annual event sponsored by the Downtown Business Association in Craig.
"It sounds like it's going to be bigger and better this year," said Jan Gerber, of the Museum of Northwest Colorado. She said this observation was based on the number of boards requested upon which people build the houses.
Contest rules are as follows:
• Houses must be constructed on boards provided with entry fee.
• Entire house must be made of edible products. No lights, cardboard, supporting structures or artificial display materials are to be used. Candies must be unwrapped.
• Cost to enter is $6, with the board included. It is $2 for anyone using a board from a previous year.
• There are three divisions: Adult, Kids ages 11 to 17, Kids 10 and younger
Entries will be judged Dec. 5, with results posted Dec. 6. Entries will remain on display through Dec. 20. A first-place and second-place prize will be awarded in each category.
