Each Tuesday, the Craig Daily Press will review the past week in Moffat County sports, with complete team and individual statistics, along with a team schedule and results.

Teams are listed in no particular order.

Hockey

The Moffat County Bulldog Club Hockey team skated to a 4-2 win Friday against visiting Kremmling.

The victory moved the team to 3-2 on the season and into second place in the Rocky Mountain Youth Hockey League standings.

Moffat County High School senior Colt Criswell picked up two goals Friday, giving the speedy winger 11 total points in five games played this season - tied for tops in the RMYHL.

MCHS senior John Strahan tallied two goals Friday, as well, and now sits alone in the league's third position with eight points.

Juniors Ty Deguelle (seven points) and Cole DuBois (six points) are fourth and fifth, respectively.

Senior goaltender Spencer Wayman picked up his second win of the season Friday, tied for tops among net minders in the league. His 2.41 goals against average ranks fifth, and his .850 save percentage, sixth.

The Bulldogs don't play again until Dec. 10, when Steamboat Springs visits Moffat County Ice Arena.

Volleyball

The MCHS girls volleyball team earned two Western Slope League all-conference selections.

Named to the team were senior Ariel Sanchez and junior Natasha Romney.

Sanchez was a first team selection, Romney honorable mention.

The award was Sanchez's second consecutive - she earned an honorable mention in 2007 as a junior.

The MCHS varsity boys basketball team kicks off its season Dec. 6 in a tournament in Palisade against Montezuma-Cortez. : The varsity girls basketball team begins its 2008-09 campaign Dec. 5 at a tournament in Vernal, Utah. : The varsity wrestling team hits the mats Dec. 5 at Mountain Vista. : Varsity girls' swimming begins Dec. 5 at Fruita Monument High School.
