Tomorrow is Election Day.

I simply am stunned by the number of people who already have voted, and I am hopeful that Election Day brings a continuation of the voter turnout we already have experienced.

If you are having doubts about whether it is worth your time to go vote, stop doubting and go do it.

It not only is your right as a citizen of this great country; it also is your duty.

Plus, it is your chance to be heard.

The vote center at Centennial Mall will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Cook dealership celebrates 45 years

It is said that running a business is very difficult, and many don't make it even seven years. That's not the case for Cook Chevrolet-Jeep-Subaru, which is celebrating 45 years of business this year.

"You just don't hang around this many years without great employees," Scott Cook, general manager of Cook Chevrolet, said.

Cook's father, Larry Cook partnered with Floyd Reed 45 years ago in a Chevrolet-Oldsmobile dealership, which was located where Bank of Colorado is now.

The business later moved to where Miller Family Appliance is today, before landing at its current location at 1776 W Victory Way.

Cook added the Jeep line of automobiles to the dealership in the early 1970s, and then Subaru in the late 1970s. The Oldsmobile line of autos was discontinued at the dealership in the late 1990s.

The dealership also has a second location in Steamboat Springs. In 2006, Cook built a new building in Steamboat Springs at 1955 Curve Plaza.

Cook Chevrolet-Jeep-Subaru employs 38 people between both locations.

"We have had great employees through the years and great customers," Scott Cook said.

You can contact Cook at 824-2100 or 879-3900, or go online at www.cookchevrolet.com.
