Erin Urbanoski wins second state title

Moffat County High School junior Erin Urbanoski defended her girls long jump state title during Saturday's 4A state track and field championships in Lakewood.

Urbanoski leapt 17 feet, 6 1/2 inches to win the 4A state title for the second consecutive year.

Senior JT Haddan finished second in the state in boys shot put, tossing the 12-pound ball 53-4.75, setting a new MCHS school record once again this season.

Haddan has eclipsed the school record seven times this year.

Junior Alicia Nelson entered the girls 800 ranked No.1 in the state, but failed to hold on to that spot in the finals.

Nelson placed fourth in 2:17.94.

Junior Myiah Bengston placed 15th in girls discus, recording a mark of 98-11.

Sophomore Brian Ivy - seeded 20th out of 21 triple jump competitors - leapt a career best 43-8, placing tenth overall.
