A Browns Park exploration and conservation trip is planned for May 23 to 26.
"Here is your chance to walk in the footsteps of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid as you explore the remote far Northwest part of Colorado," according to a news release.
Time will be spent exploring BLM wilderness study areas on Cold Springs Mountain and in the Diamond Breaks. Much of May 24 will be spent doing some light trail work with the BLM near the Irish Canyon rock art area.
There is no charge for guides, and donations are appreciated.
Individuals are responsible for own food, water, gear and transportation. There is a limit of nine people who can participate. Clinic offering free sports exams
Moffat Family Clinic will be doing free sports exams for all Moffat County, Hayden and Baggs, Wyo., students.
Sports exams will be done by appointment only through July 31, 2008. Call (970) 824-3252 to schedule your appointment.
Mountain pine beetle workshop Monday
A free Mountain Pine Beetle Prevention Workshop is at 6 p.m. Monday, May 19, at the CSU Moffat County Extension Office, 539 Barclay St.
Mountain pine beetles are killing large numbers of Colorado trees, especially those that are not growing vigorously due to old age, crowding, poor growing conditions, drought, fire or mechanical damage, and root disease.
Come learn about short-term Mountain Pine Beetle control, as well as how and when to replace affected trees. For more information, call Bill Ekstrom, CSU Extension Agent for Rio Blanco County at 878-9490.
City selling anniversary memorabilia
The city of Craig is selling commemorative coins and hats to celebrate the city's 100-year anniversary this year. Hats are $13 and coins are $8. Both can be purchased at City Hall, 300 W. Fourth St. The items also may be purchased at the Craig Chamber of Commerce or the Museum of Northwest Colorado. For more information, call 826-2029.
Farm Service Agency meeting May 29
Information on agriculture loans for farm ownership, operation, equipment purchasing, and guarantee and youth loans will be provided at an upcoming meeting.
An outreach meeting regarding the United States Department of Agriculture's Farm Service Agency Farm Loan Program is scheduled for 6 p.m. May 29 in the conference room at Re/Max About You LLC, 390 Yampa Ave.
The meeting is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

New book group to start in Craig
All readers are invited to attend a new reading group/book club, "Page Turners," sponsored by Downtown Books. The group will read books across the genres-new and old fiction, science writing, creative non-fiction, mysteries and may even take a peek at poetry.
"Once Upon a Day" by Lisa Tucker is the first book. Tucker follows the exploits of a young woman, raised in isolation on a grand estate in New Mexico, searching for her runaway brother. In St. Louis she is introduced to outside world.
The first meeting of Page Turners is at 1 p.m. June 21 at Downtown Books, 543 Yampa Ave. Future meeting dates will be determined by the group. The second book in the series will be "Plenty" by Alisa Smith and J.B. Mackinnon.

Suicide prevention workshop in June
Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide hosts a two-day Gatekeeper Training Workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 2 and 3. There is no cost. Location is to be announced.
The workshop is designed to give participants knowledge and skills that will help them know how to intervene when they fear someone might be at risk for suicide and depression.
