Craig — To the editor:

On Friday, Charlie the horse decided to go visiting down Highway 13 north.

We got in the truck to try and bring him home, and got right past the Recycling Center when we saw people for the next mile trying to calm Charlie down and get him cornered to get him home.

With cooperative efforts from friends and neighbors, we finally got him headed in the right direction.

I grew up in Craig, not the most exciting place to be, but it is home.

Today, I remembered why I never left. People on the way home from work stopped and blocked traffic, tried to calm a scared horse and worked together to catch him safely. These people are my acquaintances, neighbors and friends. These people are why I never left here. I don't know a lot of you by name, but by no means does it make your part any less appreciated.

As for Erin Knez, Shandy Deakins, Mike Anthony,

and Tim Miles, thanks for being you, and reminding

me of what a great place I live in. You make it easy to be "Craig Proud."
