Craig briefs for May 2

First National Bank not affected by A T Fund issues

May 2, 2008

— First National Bank of the Rockies officials said that issues with the A T Fund of Funds will not impact the Craig branch, or any other of the bank branches.

The bank and federal regulators - who say the bank breached the law - have reached an agreement to handle the issue. Per the agreement, the bank must dispose of the A T Fund of Funds.

"It generally doesn't affect customers," said Greg Dixson, FNBR regional president. "The whole fine represents 3 percent of our assets.

"It's not that it has to be repaid. It's an investment. Every bank out there has investments : and it was simply an investment and we're liquidating it."

Peter Waller, chairman, president and CEO of FNBR, agreed.

FNBR "is all one bank, just different branch locations," he said. "An investment such as this is not housed in one location. It's kept under the accounting of our administration office. So no, it doesn't have anything to do with the Craig office or any other offices.

The FNBR Craig branch, 600 Yampa Ave., had 4,479 number of deposit accounts, and 15 employees as of the end of February, Dixson said, the last reportable numbers.
