Craig To the editor,
Last weekend, the Moffat County High School Prom 2008 went off without a hitch, and with the leadership of parents Dana Clark and Stan Fox, as well as the numerous other parents who volunteered their time, the After-Prom did so, too.
Traditionally, the After-Prom is organized by a volunteer group of junior parents. On April 7, at the monthly Parent Accountability Committee meeting, I announced that no junior parents had stepped forward to organize the event yet. Dana Clark quickly stepped up to the challenge, calling other parents and helping to bring the event together in just three short weeks.
I send this letter not to diminish the efforts of all of the other parents and community members who were involved, as they, too, should be commended for volunteering their time to this worthwhile cause.
Rather, I simply want to acknowledge that every positive effort starts with one person or a small group of people who make a difference. Those who stepped forward to assist in the effort are greatly appreciated. Thanks to Dana and Stan for spearheading the 2008 After Prom.

Question of the week
Steamboat Springs is considering adopting a social host ordinance, which would add harsher punishments — such as jail time — for adults who knowingly “host” parties where underage drinking is allowed. Do you think Craig needs a social host ordinance?
