The Rocky Mountain Civil War Round Table and the Community College of Aurora present the inaugural Rocky Mountain Civil War Symposium, “The War in the West — 1862 to 1863” on April 5. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Community College of Aurora campus, 16000 E. Centre Tech Parkway.
Breakfast begins at 8 a.m.
Authors scheduled to speak are:
• James Lee McDonough, author of “Nashville: The Western Confederacy’s Final Gamble.”
• Sam Davis Elliott, author of “Soldier of Tennessee: General Alexander P. Stewart and the Civil War in the West.”
• Timothy B. Smith, author of “The Untold Story of Shiloh: The Battle and the Battlefield.”
• Kenneth Noe, author of “Perryville: This Grand Havoc of Battle.”
• Matt Spruill, author of Winter Lighting: A Guide to the Battle of Stones River.”
Admission is $50 per person and includes a continental breakfast and lunch. The registration deadline is March 28.

Electronic devices prohibited at MCHS
Moffat County High School students are reminded that beginning today all electronic devices, including cell phones and iPods, will be prohibited from use during the academic day.
Electronic device use will be allowed before the first bell at 8:05 a.m. and after the last bell at 3:15 p.m.
Additionally, students may use electronic devices during their own lunchtime on the first floor commons.
No use will be allowed on the second floor commons or hallways during the school day. Failure to follow these procedures will result in confiscation.
