The Craig Chamber of Commerce was alerted Monday about a company, Liberty Marketing, which is selling advertising space in Moffat/Jackson counties maps. The Chamber is urging businesses to consider potential purchases carefully.
The Craig Chamber stopped distributing the maps two years ago because the company was misusing the Chamber’s name and its role in the publication as a sales tool. The company continues to do so, the Chamber reports.
Before launching the project, the Chamber informed Liberty Marketing that it would not be a distribution point for the maps.
“But,” the Chamber reported in a news release, “the company’s sales literature blatantly misinforms potential advertisers and places the Craig Chamber of Commerce first on its list of distribution points.
“The Craig Chamber of Commerce does not advocate or oppose this opportunity, but encourages businesses to investigate it — as well as any other offer — fully before agreeing to purchase.”
