He has many names.

There is the Balloon Man and the One Man Band. There's also The Hornophone Suit, The Bells Orchestra and the Dishophone.

And he has many talents.

He is a visual humorist and a fantasy artist. He also is a musician and a performer who gains personal satisfaction in capturing his public's attention, according to a news release.

He is Michel Lauziere, and he will be in Craig for a 2 p.m. showing of "The Unique Art of Michel Lauziere" on Sunday at the Moffat County High school auditorium. The Craig Concert Association is sponsoring the event.

"I think he looks like a blast," said Julie Dempster, publicity chair on board for the Association. "Not just the kids will get a kick out of him."

His unique brand of visual humor isn't something he came up with over night. He cut his teeth as the straight man in a comedy duo for 10 years before setting out on his own. He began his solo career in 1988.

He's traveled the world, speaks five languages and is able to perform in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.

He's been on David Letterman, Arsenio Hall, American Comedy Awards, many half-time shows at NBA games, a two-month, one-man show in Branson, Mo., and many Casino appearances in Las Vegas.

But to pin his show down into one definition would be a feat.

A recent Letterman appearance shows Lauziere playing "The Toreador Song" from "Carmen" using 300 glass bottles and rollerblades to beat on them.

"When we choose a performer," Dempster said, "we try and get a good variety."

And that is just what the CCA is bringing to the table, bringing, what the group is calling, the most unusual program ever offered.

Tickets cost $15 at the door. For further information, call Julie Dempster at 824-5251.
