A celebration to honor Edith Ottens 102nd birthday is from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday at 829 Stout St.
Edith was born in 1906 on a ranch above Yampa. She has lived in Moffat County most of her life, helping her husband, Albert Owens, run the general store in Hamilton.
Edith was on the Moffat County school board when the old “new” high school (the current middle school) was the project the school board was overseeing.
The couple retired in about 1968 and moved to St. George, Utah. Albert died in 1982, and Edith moved back to Craig in 1997 to be near her family.
