A 20-year-old Craig man will join his father in prison, the 14th Judicial District Attorney’s Office reported, following a sentencing hearing Friday in Moffat County District Court.
Judge Sandra Gardner sentenced Nathan Seltzer to eight years in prison for conspiracy to distribute amphetamine. He also was ordered to serve 18 months in prison for violating probation on an earlier case.
The sentences will be served concurrently.
“The prison sentence imposed today is the result of the dedicated efforts of our community’s counter-drug task force and sends an important message in the continuing fight against illegal drugs in Moffat County,” said Brett Barkey, chief deputy district attorney for the Craig office.
Seltzer was transferred from the Moffat County Jail to the Colorado Department of Corrections.
His father, Andy Seltzer, 43, was sentenced in January. He received an 8 1/2 year sentence to the Department of Corrections for distribution of amphetamine by a previous drug offender, the District Attorney’s Office reported.
A Texas man also was sentenced to prison Friday.
Judge Shelley A. Hill sentenced Michael Marks to five years in prison for robbing the Dark Horse Liquor Store on Aug. 17, 2007. Marks, 38, was transferred from the Routt County Jail to the DOC.
The sentenced, Barkey said, “appropriately balances the crime committed here and Mr. Mark’s prior criminal history.”
All three of the defendants pleaded guilty to the charges.
