Denver The Craig Daily Press won 53 Colorado Press Association awards at the CPA’s annual meeting in Denver.
The awards were announced Saturday night. The Daily Press’ total marks the third straight year the Craig publication has set the state record for number of awards won by any newspaper, regardless of division. Last year, the Daily Press brought home 51 awards, and the year before 44.
Major honors include General Excellence, Advertising Excellence and Editorial Excellence in the Class 4A division, which includes daily newspapers with a circulation up to 7,500.
“It is always an honor to earn the respect of your industry,” publisher Bryce Jacobson said. “But, it’s more important to judge our newspaper with how we cover the community, and I can say that I’m proud of the Daily Press staff in that regard.”
