Glenda Bellio: Thanks for helping someone in need

Craig To the editor:
Once again, someone I know broke down on the side of a county road. As they waited with flashers on and hood up, vehicle after vehicle drove by. In each case, one and I mean only one, stopped to see if help was needed.
Not so long ago, every one of those vehicles would have stopped.
So, to those people who stopped, I would like to say thank you and may your thoughtfulness and kindness come back to you a hundredfold.
It is people like you that make living in rural communities such a joy. To those people who just drove by, may your thoughtfulness and kindness also comes back to you a hundredfold.
Then, the next time you see someone in need of help, ask yourself, ‘What if that was me?’ And then do the right thing.
You never know whom you might meet and I doubt if any are interested in doing you harm. And very few of us are so important that we can’t be a minute.
Lets keep Moffat County one of the great places to live, even if that isn’t how they did it where you came from.

I drive these roads everyday and see it all the time. I would hate to think that its someone family member out there and no one will help. a casual question of do you need help? Is some one on the way is all it takes. sometimes a ride to town or a gallon of water is all it takes. Hopefully people will not be to busy to stop.

You know it is sad that we've come to the point where we're to busy to stop, to afraid to stop or whatever.
I won't stop when I'm alone and that really makes me feel bad. I bug my husband to stop when we're together, but sometimes because of traffic you can't just pull over in a hurry.
Now to the other letter about the woman laying on the sidewalk downtown……….why in the world would people just walk by? Lord Almight, are we that busy?
I fell once and people drove by and I finally noticed two women looking at me and had to ask for help. I had hurt my knee and had terrible shoes on for winter and couldn't get any traction to get my fat butt off the sidewalk. It was really awful. I was mad at myself for falling in the first place, mad cuz I couldn't get myself up and really ticked because it took so long for someone to help me.
Anyway, that is beside the point now. It just takes a moment to be kind. Think about how you'd feel in that position and give your neighbor a helping hand if you can and in this town, we're all neighbors.
