Craig The Moffat County Library will host story time at 11 a.m. today in the covered patio area of Moffat County Fairgrounds. This week’s theme is bugs.
Bring a lunch, drink, sunscreen, hat and bug spray. All story times are subject to weather conditions, so call 824-5116 to confirm.
Chapter Hour for ages 8 and older is from 2 to 3 p.m. every Wednesday in the Teen Corner of the library. The book for June is Thomas Rockwell’s “How to Eat Fried Worms.”
Hearing scheduled for district’s 2008-09 budget
The Moffat County School Board is scheduled to hear public comment on the School District’s proposed 2008-09 budget during a special meeting at 4 p.m. today at the School District administration building, 775 Yampa Ave.
The School Board is slated to finalize the budget at its June 26 meeting. For more information, call 824-3268.
Huck Finn Fun Day on Saturday
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4265 and Ladies Auxiliary, in conjunction with the Colorado Department of Wildlife, will sponsor Huck Finn Fun Day beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Loudy-Simpson Park.
The event is a day of free fishing for everyone.
Children ages 1 to 15 can enter the Huck Finn/Becky Thatcher costume contest; prizes will be awarded for the most authentic costumes based on the two Mark twain characters, as well as for the best homemade fishing poles. Children ages 15 and younger also can participate in prize fishing.

CNCC to host Relay for Life fundraisers
Colorado Northwestern Community College is scheduled to host a community barbeque and garage sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 20 at the college campus, 50 College Dr. Entry is free but donations will be accepted. All proceeds will benefit the Craig Relay for Life.
Garage sale donations may be delivered to the Bell Tower Building on June 19. For more information, call 824-1109.
Presentation to focus on those living with MS
Dr. Pamela Kinder, a neurologist from Kinder Family Clinic, and Karrie Booth, owner of Holistic Health & Fitness, will present information for people with multiple sclerosis as part of a program scheduled for June 16.
Topics will be incorporating wellness into daily lifestyles through relaxation techniques, nutrition, stress management and fitness.
The presentation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association Craig office, 745 Russell St. Refreshments will be provided.

Author to read from new book Saturday
Resident and recently retired Moffat County High School woodworking teacher Craig Conrad will read from and talk about his book, “Unstoppable: Inspiring Lessons for the Unstoppable You,” at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Downtown Books, 543 Yampa Ave.
“After personally experiencing some of his own students becoming stoppable because of drugs and alcohol, Conrad took action and created his popular Friday stories,” according to a news release from Downtown Books. “‘Unstoppable’ is a collection of those and other stories.”
Conrad has been a teacher for 23 years and is founder of the “Unstoppable You” program.

Humane Society sponsoring fundraiser
The Humane Society of Moffat County announced it is sponsoring the “Magic, Magic, Magic Show,” an event to raise money for special needs at the animal shelter, care for abused and abandoned animals and medical expenses such as vaccination and the spay/neuter program.
The show is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at Moffat County High School. Ticket information will be released at a later date.
