Ashley Dawn Bishop, daughter of Kim L. Bishop, graduated from Colorado Northwestern Community College on May 10 with an associate degree in applied science in dental hygiene and associate general science.
During her time at CNCC, she was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, where she maintained a 3.75 grade point average. She was also a member of Who’s Who among American junior colleges, Student American Dental Hygiene Association, historian of her class and the Women’s SADHA recreational softball captain.
Bishop volunteered hours to the community, including the Colorado Mission of Mercy, a volunteer organization of several dental professionals. There, she helped treat more than 1,300 patients who were in need of dental care.
On May 10, she received the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award, the Western Society of Periodontology Award and the Faculty Award, demonstrating proficiency in periodontology with ability and approach to patient care.
This summer, she will receive her license to become a registered dental hygienist and plans to work in Northwest Colorado.
