In 1998, Naomi Beason and Nick Bomba were preparing to graduate from high school.

This year, they're hoping to catch up with their classmates, some of whom they parted ways with after they earned their diplomas.

Beason and Bomba are two 1998 Moffat County High School graduates who are coordinating a reunion for their classmates.

"I'm actually really excited," Bomba said. "We had a cool class. A lot of us kept in touch."

Still, Bomba said he would like to see the whole class reunite, for old time's sake.

"It's good for everyone to get together," he said.

Several events planned for next month are designed to meet that goal.

An adult mixer is scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 8 at J W Snacks Coast Bar & BBQ. Entry is free, and a cash bar will be provided at the gathering.

A tour of the MCHS building is slated for 10 a.m. Aug. 9, with a family barbecue following at 2 p.m. at Loudy-Simpson Park. The meal, which will be served at 4 p.m., will cost $20 for adults and will be free for children.

A golf game at 9 a.m. Aug. 10 at Yampa Valley Golf Course will wrap up the event. Entry for the game is free, Bomba said, adding that participants must pay their own green fees and golf cart costs.

Beason, a Craig resident, said she would like to see about 100 people come to the reunion.

She's enlisted the help of online networking sites in her search for her classmates.

"We've been trying to post to as many Web sites as possible," she said, including MySpace and Facebook.

So far, about 30 people have joined a MySpace group created for the reunion, Beason said.
