Thunder Rolls Bowling Center hosted its first mixed bowling tournament the past two weekends. TRBC owner Beryl Dschaak said the event was an overwhelming success.
“This was the first time we had something like this in Craig,” Dschaak said. “Everyone involved had a great time. Many of the people who came talked about how much they liked Craig, the facility, the friendly people and the community.”
More than 300 bowlers, family and friends from across Colorado participated in the United States Bowling Commission event, which began July 12.
Craig resident Brandy Goodwin was the top local finisher, placing first in the all events women category, based on a handicap system.
Goodwin’s six game pin total of 1,447 earned her $180.
“I bowled well because my husband was there,” Goodwin said. “He is my cheering section.”
As for her winnings?
“I’m spending the money on my daughter,” she said.
