To the editor:
This letter is to the motorcycle rider that I almost pulled in front of on Yampa Avenue by the middle school at about 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 13. I would like to apologize for my error, but I really didn't see you until the last minute. Sometimes it is difficult to see motorcycles, even for the most cautious of drivers.
I know because I used to ride myself but decided to quit after too many close calls when automobile drivers did not see me. I would like to say, however, that your obscene gesture to me was totally unfair. If I had done something intentional I would have deserved that gesture, but I legitimately did not see you.
Oh, by the way, do you happen to know the speed limit on Yampa Avenue by the middle school?
