At its Tuesday meeting, the Craig City Council:
• Approved renewal of the retail liquor license for East Side Liquor at 539 E. Victory Way.
• Approved the annexation agreement for the Frazier East Annexation, which includes provisions requiring developers to attain state permission to build a second, southern access off Colorado Highway 13 and build the intersection before they can apply for other building permits on the property.
• Approved a resolution to annex Frazier East into the city.
• Approved the second reading of an ordinance to annex Frazier East into the city.
• Approved a resolution to establish zoning classifications for the property within the Frazier Easy Annexation, which includes low-, medium- and high-density residential, as well as commercial property along Highway 13.
• Approved an $11,468 bid from Av-Tech Electronics for two speed monitoring signs for the Craig Police Department. It was the low bid received. The purchase comes in $468 more than budgeted, but Police Chief Walt Vanatta said his department would be able to make up the shortfall through the year.
• Approved the second reading of an ordinance to adopt new collection fees for residential and commercial refuse collection. The ordinance raises fees for extra trash pickups and temporary construction dumpsters.
• Approved a motion to have Road and Bridge Department crews repave the Craig Rural Fire District parking lot at the corner of Fourth Street and Yampa Avenue. The fire department will pay for all materials. City Manager Jim Ferree did not know how much in-kind services would cost the city.
• Hired Tammy Stewart, assistant Moffat County attorney, as the city’s administrative hearing officer for liquor license violations. Stewart will be paid $200 an hour for work done during hearings.
