— The Craig Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for large business of the year, small business of the year and businessperson of the year.

Awards will be presented during the Chamber's annual State of the County meeting Feb. 19 at the Holiday Inn of Craig. Tickets will be $40 each or two for $70.

Small businesses are those with fewer than 40 employees. Large businesses are those with 41 or more employees.

Nominations may be mailed to 360 E. Victory Way, Craig, CO 81625 or e-mailed to Please include a brief summary of why you are nominating the business or person.

Nominations are due Friday.

Applications available for Police Academy

The Craig Police Department is accepting applications for the next Citizens Police Academy. The anticipated start date is Feb. 28. The academy will take place one night a week for about 11 weeks. Applications may be picked up at the Police Department counter in the Moffat County Public Safety Center.

City selling anniversary memorabilia

The city of Craig is selling commemorative coins and hats to celebrate the city's 100-year anniversary this year. Hats are $13 and coins are $8. Both can be purchased at City Hall, 300 W. Fourth St. The items also may be purchased at the Craig Chamber of Commerce or the Museum of Northwest Colorado. For more information, call 826-2029.

State of the County to be held Feb. 19

The Craig Chamber of Commerce's annual meeting "State of the County: An inside look at Moffat County" is from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 19 the Craig Holiday Inn, 300 S. Colorado Highway 13.

Representatives from the Craig City Council, the Moffat County Commission and the Chamber are giving presentations, reflecting on accomplishments of 2007 and what to look for in 2008.

Awards also are to be presented for the large business of the year, small business of the year and businessperson of the year. Submit nominations to the Craig Chamber of Commerce.
