— Fort Collins author Teresa Funke, who has coached and critiqued writers for more than 12 years, will host a writing workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 23 at The Ranch at Steamboat, 1800 Ranch Road in Steamboat Springs.

The workshop lasts six hours and costs $175.

It includes lunch, a workbook, 80 pages of additional information, links to resources and writing exercises.

Funke is the author of three books for children and adults. Her articles, essays and short stories have appeared in national and regional publications.

Her workshop will include how to get started writing a book, write, revise and find an agent/editor.

Applications available for Police Academy

The Craig Police Department is accepting applications for the next Citizens Police Academy. The anticipated start date is Feb. 28. The academy will take place one night a week for about 11 weeks. Applications may be picked up at the Police Department counter in the Moffat County Public Safety Center.

City anniversary memorabilia for sale

The city of Craig is selling commemorative coins and hats to celebrate the city's 100-year anniversary this year. Hats are $13 and coins are $8. Both can be purchased at City Hall, 300 W. Fourth St. The items may also be purchased at the Craig Chamber of Commerce or the Museum of Northwest Colorado. For more information, call 826-2029.

Ski Club arranging Glenwood Springs trip

Craig Community Ski Club will be taking an overnight trip to Glenwood Springs. The club will ski the first day at Snowmass and the second day at Sunlight.

The trip is planned for Feb. 23 and 24. Itineraries and sign-up sheets are available at the Craig Parks and Recreation Department, Craig Middle School office and Moffat County High School athletic office.

Registrations must be turned in by Wednesday, Feb. 8.

The cost is $130 and includes travel, motel, two lift tickets, a ticket to the hot springs, one dinner and one breakfast.

Ski Club membership is still open and costs $10. For more information, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 826-2029.

Next concert: Santa Cruz River Band

The Santa Cruz River Band is scheduled to play in Craig at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 in the Moffat County High School auditorium, as part of the Craig Concert Association series.
