Yearbook for home school students

The Northwest Colorado Home School Association is offering all home school students an opportunity to participate in creating a page in the group’s first yearbook. The cost is $15 and includes assistance putting together a family page and a copy of the finished yearbook. The deadline for accepting pages is March 14. Diamonds and Spurs tickets on sale
Tickets are on sale for the Craig Rotary Club’s annual Diamonds and Spurs Dinner Dance, which takes place Saturday, Jan. 26.
Tickets are $60 each and available from any Rotary member or at the Elk Run Inn. Call Randy at 826-4444 for more information.
Bad to the Bone is providing the dinner, serving prime rib and Cajun salmon.
Hors d’oeuvres start at 6 p.m. with the dinner at 7 p.m. Dancing follows the dinner with Kip Stream providing the music.
There also is a raffle for a diamond necklace donated by Kester Jewelry and a signed copy of Rod Hanna’s book “Seasons of Light.”
Proceeds go to benefit the Rotary youth projects in Craig, including high school and nursing scholarships, the second-grade book buddy program, the third-grade dictionary program and Rotary youth leadership camps.
Chamber seeks business of year nominations
The Craig Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for large business of the year, small business of the year and businessperson of the year.
Awards will be presented during the Chamber’s annual State of the County meeting Feb. 19 at the Holiday Inn of Craig. Tickets will be $40 each or two for $70.
Small businesses are those with fewer than 40 employees. Large businesses are those with 41 or more employees.
Nominations may be mailed to 360 E. Victory Way, Craig, CO 81625 or e-mailed to director@craig-chamber.com. Please include a brief summary of why you are nominating the business or person.
Nominations are due Feb. 1.
Rent assistance for those who qualify
Help paying rent may be available for people with disabilities and people with low income through the Independent Life Center section 8 housing choice voucher program.
