Craig briefs for Jan. 9

— The Yampa Valley Chapter of Sweet Adelines International is planning its annual show for 7:30 p.m. Jan. 26 at Moffat County High School. The show title is "Craig Idol" and is a localized version of the television show, American Idol.

Auditions for show contestants took place earlier this year; anyone in the Craig area 16 years and older was invited to participate. The five contestants selected by a panel from Yampa Valley Chorus are Monika Baron, Jacob Chason, Ashley Cordova, Irene Losolla and Tanya Rinehart. The performers will compete for the most votes from the audience.

Along with the contestants, special guest performers will be Girlsberry Jam, Hometown Harmony, Dejà Vu quartets and the Yampa Valley Chorus. Beth Gilchrist and Bill Ronis will host the show.

Tickets are $8 and $5 for seniors/students and can be purchased from any Sweet Adeline or at the door. Come and vote for your favorite Craig Idol.
