Business of the year nominations sought

— The Craig Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for large business of the year, small business of the year and business person of the year.

Awards will be presented during the Chamber's annual State of the County meeting Feb. 19 at the Holiday Inn of Craig. Tickets will be $40 each or two for $70.

Small businesses are those with fewer than 40 employees. Large businesses are those with 41 or more employees.

Flu shots available through VNA

Influenza season usually peaks in February, according to a Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association press release. The VNA will be holding drop-in flu clinics for all ages on the following dates and times:

• Jan. 3, 4 to 5 p.m.

• Jan. 10, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

• Jan. 16, 10 to 11:30 a.m.

• Jan. 22, 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Adult flu shots are $22 and children's flu shots are $14 or less. Medicaid and Medicare are accepted - bring cards to the clinics. Children younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All clinics will be held at the VNA office, 745 Russell St. in Craig. Editorial board seeking members

The Craig Daily Press is seeking three to four people to participate on its next editorial board, which begins Jan. 7, 2008.

Editorial board members meet from noon to 1 p.m. Mondays to discuss the paper's opinion piece for the following Wednesday and Saturday papers. Editorial board terms are for three months.

'Just Say No' coloring contest January 19

The VFW Ladies Auxiliary No. 4265 is sponsoring the "Just Say No" coloring contest from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 19 upstairs at the VFW Restaurant, 419 E. Victory Way.

Each year, the group hosts the contest for students first through eighth grade. All necessary supplies will be available at the location, and snacks and drinks will be provided.

Projects are scheduled to be judged at the group's Jan. 21 meeting, and three entries for each group will be sent on to compete at the state level.
