Cory Overton: Ranchers should help the elk

To the Editor:
I have lived in this area my entire life, and the deer and elk have always gone in cycles. Ranchers who keep saying they want something done about the elk eating their hay should think about letting people in to hunt without charging so much. That would help with the so-called problem before it starts. I don’t feel sorry for these people. They want the elk at hunting season, but not now. That’s because they are not making money. When they have to spend some to help the herds, they don’t want to. Some things are wrong with this idea. The elk can help the ranchers, but they can’t help them.
