To the editor:
Last Saturday, we had two speech and debate teams (30 students and adult sponsors) from Fruita High School and Greeley Central High School who were snowbound and unable to leave Craig because of very poor road conditions. As a result they became "real guests" of Moffat County High School for the night.
I would like to thank the local Red Cross for providing cots, blankets and additional essential items. Thanks to Bill Leonard and police dispatch for the help and contacts. Special thanks to our custodians, staff and parents for their understanding and patience.
Everyone was settled in by 11:30 p.m. and the teams were able to leave the next morning. Thanks, Red Cross volunteers, for your tireless work for those in need.
Merry Christmas, Craig!
Thom Schnellinger
Principal, Moffat County High School
