Post office: Please clear mailboxes
With the arrival of snow, ice and difficult weather conditions, the Craig Post Office is asking postal customers to always clear a safe, accessible path to mailboxes.
Post office requests include:
• Make sure the mailbox is visible and free of snow and ice.
• Make sure mailboxes are safely accessible for letter carriers.
• Clear the mailbox area of snow, sleet, slush, ice and debris.
If mailboxes are blocked off and conditions are too difficult, letter carriers must consider safety and accessibility first and are instructed not to deliver to mailboxes and locations considered to difficult or unsafe to access.
For more information, call the Craig Post Office at 824-8506.
Yampa Valley Partners plans for local future
At its regular meeting Dec. 10, the Yampa Valley Partners Board, consisting of members from Routt and Moffat counties, discussed the future of the organization in light of its executive director's appointment to the Moffat County Commission.
Yampa Valley Partners adopted a revised strategic plan earlier this year and is in the process of succession planning. YVP discussed moving forward with a transition that is expected to be smooth. YVP will be advertising for a new director.
"YVP is pleased for Moffat County residents as the board knows how much Audrey's work with YVP has helped the whole valley over the past 12 years and is committed to the future of YVP and Moffat County," Russ Martin, chair of YVP, said.
Soon, YVP's Community Indicators Project, a comprehensive information source of community information, trends and issues, will be released.
