Today

8:30 to 10 a.m. Senior swimnastics is at the American Legion Post 62 pool, 1055 Moffat County Road 7. Call 824-3625.

9 to 11 a.m. A playgroup for preschool and toddler-age children is at the Early Childhood Learning Center (school administration office) on 775 Yampa Ave. For more information, call Kevin at 824-1703 or Ann at 826-2717.

4 p.m. Today is the deadline to enter the Gingerbread House Contest. Entries must be delivered to Museum of Northwest Colorado by 4 p.m.

5 to 8 p.m. Northwest Colorado VNA and The Haven host a grand opening for the new Haven Community Center and Haven's annual Holiday Party at 300 South Shelton Lane in Hayden. Refreshments, holiday cheer, and entertainment will be provided. For more information, call The Haven at 276-1414.

5 to 8 p.m. The annual Nativity Set display will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, at Ninth Street and Finley Lane. Hundreds of nativity sets will be on display. The community is invited. The entrance is through the north door.

6 p.m. The Elks Lodge, 43 W. Victory Way, hosts bingo. Minimum payout is $1,000 each night. Doors open at 5 p.m.

7 p.m. Celebrate Recovery meets at The Journey, 1150 W. Ninth St. Overcome hurts, habits and hang-ups in a safe environment. Child care is provided. Latecomers are welcome. Call 824-5926.

7 p.m. The Holiday Concert at Mof-fat County High School Auditorium will feature four local soloists playing Haydn's "Sinfonie Concertante" and other holiday favorites with the entire Steamboat Orchestra, including six Craig musicians. Tickets are $15 for adults and are $10 for students 21 and younger.

Saturday, Dec. 6

9 a.m. to noon. The Mite Society of First Christian Church will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar and Bake Sale at the Church Fellowship Hall, 960 W. Victory Way. There will be a variety of fancy work, gift ideas, crafts and home-baked goods. Coffee, tea and sweet rolls will be available. For more information, call Lois at 824-6773.

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Downtown Business Association hosts an open house. Santa Claus will be in the park downtown from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children will be able to have their pictures taken with Santa by photographer Wes Uncapher.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Jarvie Christmas Fest takes place at the John Jarvie Ranch in Browns Park, Utah. Entrance is free, and a chili meal is $5.

5 p.m. The VFW and Ladies Auxiliary will hold its monthly Senior citizen dinner at the VFW Post, 419 E. Victory Way. Doors open at 4:15 p.m., and dinner will be served at 5 p.m. Door prizes will end the proceedings.
