Today

8:30 to 10 a.m. Senior swimnastics is at the American Legion Post 62 pool,

1055 Moffat County Road 7. Call 824-3625.

10 and 11:30 a.m. Story time takes place at the Craig branch of the Moffat County Libraries, 570 Green St. This week's theme is back to school. Arrive 10 minutes early to avoid distractions. Call 824-5116.

Noon. A public meeting with The Neenan Co., the Moffat County School District general contractor, will be held in the Board of Education room at the central office, 775 Yampa Ave. Lunch will be provided, and there will be time for questions from the public.

3 p.m. Voter registration for the November 2008 General Election will be offered at the Farmer's Market in Alice Pleasant Park. First-time voters and people new to the area can drop by and register. This is a non-partisan, public service provided by Colorado Environmental Coalition and Friends of Northwest Colorado.

4 to 6 p.m. A back to school night takes place at Craig Middle School, 915 Yampa Ave. Parents should park in the north parking lot and enter the west-facing double doors in the school's north wing. For more information, call CMS at 824-3289.

7 p.m. Obama's Colorado Campaign for Change will host an Obama Democratic Nomination Watch Party at American Legion Post No. 62, 1055 CR 7, in Craig. Attendees will watch Sen. Barack Obama accept the Democratic Party's nomination for president. Information will be available on how to get involved with the Obama-Biden campaign. 8 to 9:15 p.m. Craig Group One Alcoholics Anonymous' open topic discussion meeting is at 50 S. Ranney St. Call 888-333-9649.

Friday, Aug. 29

Noon. Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide's next Routt County meeting takes place at the Steamboat Smokehouse. Food is provided. Call Lisa at 879-2141.

1 to 3 p.m. Open house at Moffat County High School for students new to the district and incoming freshmen. Students will be able to pick up their schedules, find their lockers and meet their teachers. Parents also are welcome to attend. For more information, call the guidance office at 824-7036.

6 p.m. The Elks Lodge hosts bingo each Friday night. Fifteen games are played with a minimum payout of $1,000 each night. The lodge is located at 43 W. Victory Way. Doors open at 5 p.m.

7 to 9 p.m. Celebrate Recovery meets at First Baptist Church, 1150 W. Ninth St. The purpose of the group is to help people overcome hurts, habits and hang-ups in a safe environment. Live worship music and childcare are provided. Late comers are welcome. Call Caroline 620-0659.
