Election results from Moffat, Routt, Rio Blanco, Grand and Garfield counties for the 2008 Colorado primaries as of 10 p.m. Tuesday. All results are preliminary and incomplete. — Early results from the 2008 Colorado primaries indicated that Randy Baumgardner, 51, of Hot Sulphur Springs, led the Republican primary race for Colorado House District 57 against fellow Republican candidate Dan Korkowski, 53, of Grand Lake.

The House District 57 Republican primary was the only contested primary election in Moffat County.

Across five of the six counties encompassed by House District 57 - Moffat, Routt, Rio Blanco, Grand and Garfield - Baumgarder tallied 66 percent of the vote, or 1,597 votes, as of 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Korkowski trailed with about 34 percent, or 816 votes.

The Jackson County Clerk and Recorder's Office could not provide election data as of press time.

In Moffat County, Baumgardner showed a slightly greater advantage, leading Korkowski 72 percent to 28 percent.

The winner between Baumgardner and Korkowski will go on to face Democratic candidate Todd Hagenbuch in the Nov. 4 general election.

Hagenbuch, 31, of Steamboat Springs, ran unopposed for the House District 57 Democratic candidacy.

In other elections, which were uncontested, Republican candidates grabbed more votes than their Democratic counterparts. There were no contested Democratic races in Moffat County.
