Last chance to sign up
for Mud Splash volleyball
The ninth annual Mud Splash mud volleyball tournament, sponsored by the Craig Chamber of Commerce, is happening this weekend, and there is still time to register a team or become a sponsor.
The tournament, which is a fundraiser for the Chamber, is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, at Loudy-Simpson Park, across from the west picnic shelter. Cost is $150 per team. Each team gets a guaranteed two games in a double-elimination tournament, plus the opportunity for challenge matches.
If you don't have a team, but would like to be a sponsor, call Chris at 824-5689.
The Chamber has teams including the Moffat County High School DECA/Future Business Leaders of America students, who have players, but that do not have a sponsor.
Craig, Steamboat banks changing to same name
On Monday, First National Bank of Steamboat Springs and its Craig branch, Moffat County National Bank, will unite under the name Yampa Valley Bank.
The name change is happening to better reflect the two bank branches' local roots and local commitment to customers, according to bank officials.
YVB will still consist of more than 45 shareholders who work, reside and proudly call the Yampa Valley home.
"The name Yampa Valley Bank clearly indicates that we are a locally owned, hometown bank with products and services tailored specifically to the unique needs of our customers throughout the Yampa Valley," President and CEO John Kerst said.
