- Danny Hedman and Michelle Armstrong, of Craig, announce the birth of their son, Tristan Daniel Hedman, at 8:12 a.m. July 30 at Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces and was 18 1/2 inches long. Grandparents include Dean and Diane Davidson, of Grand Junction; and Randy and Deena Armstrong, of Craig. The baby was welcomed home by sibling Zachary.
- Shawn and Justine Brookshire, of Craig, announce the birth of their son, Luke Duane Brookshire, born July 22. The baby weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces and measured 19 inches long. Grandparents include Steve and Amber Wilkinson, David Brookshire and Jolene Hendry.
- Kendra and Christopher Varner, of Craig, announce the birth of their daughter, Gracie Lynn Varner, at 5:12 p.m. July 31 at The Memorial Hospital. The baby weighed 7 pounds 1 ounce and was 19 3/4 inches long. Grandparents include Kendall and Cheryl Peed, of Hayden, and Phillip and Deborah Varner of Craig. Gracie was welcomed home by siblings Zane and Kenzie.
- Derrick Ray and Maria Louise Linzie announce the birth of their daughter, Leah Rose Linzie, at 2:56 a.m. August 2 at Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs. The baby weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. Grandparents include Troy and Michele Russell, of Arvada; and Pete and Tina Pino, of Thornton.

Well, by golly, it is fair time in Northwest Colorado. I just happened to run across this article, which appeared in the August 8, 1919, edition of the Routt County Republican published in Hayden. Since the article does a good job of bragging about Craig, I thought it was worth putting in the paper during Craig’s 100th anniversary. The article follows.
